Assignment Title: Lifecycle Project

What I learned: 

This assignment helped me understand how children eat and what environmental factors influence their eating. I also learned what the DRI’s were for infants and children, and how to calculate them based on their age. 

Reflection to assignment: 

This assignment was interesting to do because I had to pay a lot of attention to how much the children were eating. It was fascinating how the children in elementary schools are given so much food for breakfast and lunch, but most of it gets thrown away. This may be due to them not being hungry, or just them being distracted by friends. 

Relevance to the profession: 

This assignment is very relevant to the dietetics profession because what children eat is so important. The food they are fed in school has to be regulated constantly to make sure it is providing the children with enough nutrients for proper growth and development.
